Nice and cozy place to stay, felt like home! Clean and comfortable with all amenities, would definitely recommend this place. You can see the most amazing sunsets from the front porch overlooking the ocean. Daine is an excellent host and very knowledgeable with the area and all the hiking trails. Great, quiet location away from all the crowded touristy cabins. Quick access to all parts of Gros Morne park.

Prior to my time on the west side of Newfoundland, I had never heard of Explore Gros Morne and intended on traveling around with nothing but a pack on my back hoping for the best and being prepared for the worst. Through a very large stroke of luck, I happened to cross paths with Daine at the beginning of what turned into an amazing trip and by far the most memorable part of my summer. Upon discovering that I was backpacking/camping in the area, Daine was kind enough to lend a helping hand and introduced me to some fellow travelers who quickly became dear friends of mine. The group of us spent the next week doing an assortment of exhilarating things together. Thanks to Daines expert knowledge of the area, we were able to explore the most exciting regions of Gros Morne and discovered a number of places that would have otherwise been missed had he not been there for us. We hiked some of the best trails I have ever been on, saw a variety of gorgeous sites, canoed and swam in a secluded pond with no one else around, and gorged ourselves on a few local dishes that we could not get enough of! While our days were packed with fun activities and great views, I also thoroughly enjoyed just hanging out and getting to know Daine and the other travelers I was fortunate enough to meet. In any trip, its the people that really make or break it. Thanks to Daines friendly and accommodating nature, along with his clear passion for adventure and the outdoors, he made sure that, out of the 4 months I spent in Newfoundland, this was the highlight of my trip! I cannot stress enough how good of a time I had with him and really hope to come back in the future for another round of adventures. I dont normally write reviews but I decided to make an exception in this case and share my experience so that others can benefit as well. If you like meeting great people and have even a small inclination for adventure; you are going to love Daine and exploring Gros Morne in general! I strongly recommend everyone get to know him and spend at least a couple nights staying at Daines place you wont regret it!

Daine was an excellent host! One night my friends and I used his fire stove to roast marshmallows. The location is perfect for exploring places around Gros Morne. The sunset is right in the front lawn as well, over looking the horizon. His deck is also a great place to watch the stars. If you like an accommodation off the beaten path, this is great for you!Recommend for youth and solo travelers. His dogs were very friendly too!

The perfect place to set up base while exploring Gros Morne National Park. The house is clean and well-maintained, with better amenities than the typical hostel, and Daine is very friendly and can give you the local scoop on Gros Morne and Newfoundland. Since we eat vegan, being able to use the kitchen was a boon. Walk out a few feet to Sally's Cove seashore to catch a beautiful sunset. Highly recommended for those looking for a great location a little off the beaten path.

Staying with Explore Gros Morne was great and very authentic. I loved the relaxed atmosphere. The room was clean and pretty and Sally's cove is a good starting point for activities in the Gros Morne national park. Being a local, the owner knows everything about the area and can arrange almost anything. Highly recommended.
